[Scott Martin] The first stage was really difficult for us but we did nothing silly there. Lots of standing water. On the second run the conditions will be even worse. We expect the road to be rutted and the ruts to be full of water. On SS2 we had a good, clean run.

(Scott Martin) La première ES était vraiment difficile mais on a pas fait de bêtise. Beaucoup de flaques, le deuxième passage sera plus dur encore. Il y aura des ornières pleine d'eau. Dans l'ES2, tout s'est bien passé.

[Scott Martin] : Ensimmäinen pätkä oli tosi vaikea, mutta ei tehty mitään hölmöä. Paljon vesilammikoita. Toisella kerralla olosuhteet ovat vielä pahemmat. Tie on varmasti urainen ja urissa paljon vettä. Kakkospätkä meni puhtaasti.

[Kaj Lindstrom] It's difficult with the weather. We went wide on SS2 on the first corner but then it got better.

[Michael Orr] The conditions on SS1 were very difficult and changing all the time when it was raining like crazy, we just couldn't see the road. In those conditions we drove too slowly. We pushed hard on the second stage but now our times are where they should be.

(Michael Orr) Les conditions changeaient tout le temps dans l'ES1 et il pleuvait beaucoup, on voyait à peine la route. Du coup nous roulions trop lentement. On s'est rattrapé dans l'ES2 et maintenant nos temps sont en accord.

(Michael Orr) Olosuhteet EK1:llä olivat tosi vaikeat ja muuttuivat koko ajan. Kun satoi hullun lailla, emme nähneet tietä ja ajoimme liian hitaasti. Toisella EK:lla hyökättiin, ja nyt ajat ovat sitä mitä pitääkin.

[Korsia] We had a spin in the first corner of SS1 then later in the stage we briefly went off but without any damage.

The tyre came off the rim on SS1 and we lost some time. The real problem was confidence in SS2. It's my first time in Finland.

Le pneu a quitté la jante dans l'ES1 et nous avons perdu du temps. Dans la deuxième spéciale la difficulté était de retrouver notre confiance. C'est ma première participation en Finlande.

Rengas lähti vanteelta EK1lla ja menetimme aikaa. Tosi ongelma oli itseluottamuksen puute EK2lla. Tämä on ensimmäinen kertani Suomessa.

[Anders Fredriksson] It's only our second time in this car. SS1 was very difficult but we found a better rhythm in SS2. I think it's going to be a good rally.

(Anders Fredriksson) Tämä on vasta toinen kertamme tässä autossa. EK1 oli hyvin vaikea, mutta löysimme paremmin rytmin EK2lla. Uskon, että tästä tulee hyvä ralli.

[Gordon Noble] As we have a limited number of tyres available we have to make the best of them, so we're swapping the front with the back. On SS2 we drove around the rocks and some were as big as footballs!

(Gordon Noble) Comme nous avons un nombre limité de pneus nous en faisons le meilleur usage et intervertissons l'avant avec l'arrière. Dans l'ES2 nous avons contourné des pierres dont certaines faisaient la taille d'un ballon de foot!

Meillä on rajallinen määrä renkaita, ja niistä pitää saada kaikki irti. Siksi vaihdoimme etu- ja takarenkaat keskenään. EK2:lla kierreltiin jalkapallon kokoisia kiviä.

The windscreen misted up very badly and we couldn't see the edge of the road. We had to drive a safe line. The heater was on full and it was like a sauna in the car. I think I'm 5kg lighter!

Le pare-brise s'est vraiment embué et nous ne pouvions plus voir le sommet de la route. Il fallait rester prudent. Le chauffage était à fond et on avait l'impression d'être dans un sauna. Je pense avoir perdu 5kg!

Tuulilasi huurtui pahasti, enkä nähnyt tien reunaa, ja piti ajaa turvallista linjaa. Lämmitys ja puhallin olivat täysillä, ja auto oli kuin sauna. Laihduin varmaan viisi kiloa!
