It was OK. We didn't have a great run before and I don't think we did this time. Just sliding too much in places and not committing to some of the corners.

The times haven't been too good this morning and I expected them to be worse. It's not that bad so it's OK. I know the limit is so much higher, I just have to find that limit. I can see where we're losing the time, it's just having the confidence in what the car can do.

Now we're starting to make progress. The only way I can describe it is that yesterday I started my driving career again. I haven't done that many gravel rallies over the last few years and this is a big wake up call. (He also told that when it's sunny he always wears his prescription sunglasses.)

On commence à progresser. La seule façon pour moi de l'expliquer est que j'ai l'impression d'avoir recommencé ma carrière de pilote hier. (Il précise également qu'il porte des lunettes de soleil correctrices dès qu'il fait beau).

Nyt alamme edistyä. Tuntuu, kuin olisin aloittanut ajourani uudelleen eilen. En ole ajanut niin monia soraralleja viime vuosina ja tämä oli aikamoinen herätys. (Hän kertoi myös, että aurinkoisella ilmalla hän käyttää aina aurinkolaseja vahvuuksilla)

We had an oil leak and the gearbox radiator was broken. We did everything in the service, we were almost late. I made a couple of mistakes in this stage and I know where I lost the time. I'm happy right now and it was a very difficult day with new stages and a lot of rocks. I'm glad we did not get a puncture.

Nus avons eu une fuite d'huile et le radiateur de la boîte a cassé. Nous avons fait notre maximum à l'assistance, on a failli être en retard. J'ai fait quelques petites erreurs dans cette spéciale et je sais où j'ai perdu du temps. Je suis plutôt content car la journée promettait d'être difficile avec ces spéciales inédites et beaucoup de pierres. On est contents de ne pas avoir crevé.

Meillä oli öljyvuoto, ja vaihdelaatikon jäähdytin rikkoutui. Tehtiin kaikki mahdollinen huollossa ja melkein myöhästyttiin. Tällä pätkällä tein pari virhettä ja tiedän missä menetin aikaa. Päivä oli vaikea, kun oli uusia erikoiskokeita ja paljon kiviä. Olen tyytyväinen, kun ei tullut rengasrikkoja.

Sometimes you get a puncture from no-where. It's difficult to say today that we'll have no more problems. At high speed and over crests you can have loose rocks.
