It was quite an impressive stage. We had issues with the intercom. It was not a perfect stage for us, a lot of cleaning sometimes. You need to be confident in this stage. With the intercom problems it was not perfect but not too bad.

Une ES spectaculaire. On a eu des soucis d'intercom. Pas terrible car nous avons beaucoup balayé la route. Il faut être en toute confiance sur ce genre de route. Avec les soucis d'intercom ça n'a pas été parfait mais pas dramatique non plus.

Olipahan pätkä. Meillä oli ongelmia kypäräpuhelimien kanssa. Ei ollut täydellistä, jouduttiin putsaamaan tietä. Tällä pätkällä täytyy löytyä itseluottamusta ja kypäräpuhelinvaikeudet haittasivat, mutta ei hassumpaa.

It's a nice stage, a very nice stage. This is the best stage of the rally. I was not pushing, I have come to the end now, I am looking forward to the next rally.

It's a fantastic stage, incredible to be honest. It's a shame that we are cleaning up the roads. I felt that I could put less energy into the car and carry more speed in places.

Fantastinen pätkä, aivan uskomaton. Harmi, että joudumme putsaamaan tietä. Tuntui, että pystyin paikoitellen lisäämään vauhtia ilman lisäpuserrusta.

A really amazing stage, really really nice. It's quite difficult to get a clean run. Not amazing time but really, really nice. The stage is well suited to decide the battle between the top guys. Co-driver about the small road: It was good for me, I had some time to relax there! (Before the demanding faster road).

8. Juho Hänninen (FIN) / Tomi Tuominen (FIN) - Hyundai i20 WRC
Une spéciale dingue, super géniale. Difficile de passer sans le moindre souci. Notre temps temps n'est pas canon mais tout va bien. Cette ES est un bon moyen de départager les hommes de tête. Copilote parlant de la route secondaire : c'était cool pour moi, enfin un endroit où j'ai pu me reposer (avant la partie plus exigeante qui suivait sur la route principale).

Hemmetin hieno pätkä, mutta hankala mennä puhtaasti. Enemmän kuin pari kertaa olin hypyn jälkeen väärässä laidassa tietä. Tämä pätkä sopii tuohon kärkikavereiden käynnissä olevaan kisaan tosi hyvin. 

20. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Hyundai i20 WRC
I can feel it in my arms, that's for sure. You can't take any risks with no power steering. I'm not going to throw the car away over this, we've had a good weekend. Hopefully we've been able to prove our point over the last couple of days.

It's really, really, really fast. It's so fast, not so technical. Some really nice jumps over there. It is absolutely the fastest stage of the rally. Personally, I prefer Päijälä.

Todella nopea, ei niinkään tekninen. Ylivoimaisesti rallin nopein pätkä. Muutamia tosi kivoja hyppyjä. Pidän kyllä Päijälästä enemmän.

I really enjoyed it - what a stage. You need experience in there to get the big times. I'm sure Jari and Seb will kill my times, but it's not about times today. I need to defend my position but I feel like I can enjoy the stages. I can keep my foot hovering over the brake if I need to. for me Jari-Matti has driven an incredible rally, it depends what he does through here but we've still got a bit to do. We're not going to charge, we'll continue like it is.

Je me suis fait très plaisir, quelle spéciale! Il faut beaucoup d'expérience pour faire un temps canon. Je suis certain que Jari et Seb vont pulvériser mon temps mais ce n'est plus une question de temps aujourd'hui. Je pense à défendre ma position mais j'arrive aussi à me faire plaisir. Je peux freiner si besoin est. Jari a fait une course époustouflante. Tout dépend de ce qu'il va faire maintentant, il nous reste encore un peu de travail. On va continuer à ce rythme.

Nautin todella - mikä pätkä. Huippuaikoihin täällä tarvitsee kokemusta. Olen varma, että Jari ja Seb lyövät aikani, mutta tänään ei ajeta ajoista. That's a nice stage, so much pleasure. Without a mistake on this one we could never make a difference on Jari. But I really enjoyed it. Of course I will drive fast but without a mistake victory is gone but I have second place.

On hieno pätkä ja tuottaa iloa. Ilman Jari-Matin virhettä ei millään saataisi eroa kiinni. Tietenkin jatkan kovaa, mutta ilman toisen virhettä voittoa ei minulle tule, mutta kakkossija kuitenkin.

I'm happy that we got to the finish of the stage. My helmet is not right, the intercom is broken on the right hand side. I'm happy with that time. We still have some seconds.

Onneksi päästiin maaliin.Kypärän toinen kuuloke ei toimi ja se vähän haittaa, mutta kokonaisuutena ei hätää. Aika oli ihan hyvä, ja eroa on vielä muutamia sekunteja.

36. Karl Kruuda (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Peugeot 208 T16
I enjoyed this stage very much but I'm a little bit sad that I'm in this position, I would like to be in Jari-Matti or Ogiers position to fight on this stage. We have one stage to go. I love to fight, fighting is much more fun than just driving. It's a very nice sunday drive with a cool car and fantastic roads and jumps. To top it off, I have a chance to win as well.

J'ai beaucoup aimé cette spéciale mais je suis un peu triste d'être à cette place. J'aimerais être à la place de Jari-Metti ou de Seb pour pouvoir me battre plus. Il ne reste qu'une spéciale, j'adore la bagarre, c'est tellement plus amusant que juste conduire. C'est une journée très agréable avec un temps plaisant et des routes et des jumps formidables. Allez top là, il me reste une chance de l'emporter.

Nautin pätkästä, muta sijoitus vähän harmittaa. Yksi pätkä vielä jäljellä. On mahtavaa taistella; se on paljon hauskempaa kuin pelkkä ajaminen. Tämä on mukava sunnuntaiajelu viileällä autolla upeilla teillä ja hypyissä. Kaiken huipuksi minullla on myös mahdollisuus voittaa.

It was really hard for me as in recce it was stormy rain and the pacenotes were not perfect. We just try to survive. After the race we look at the in car and make pacenotes for next year. Co-driver when asked about the damage on his side: No, that hasn't been a problem for me. I've done many Finnish championship rallies and I'm used to damage, but noot with Teemu as he is very polite when it comes to causing damage! I think we are now leading our class and now we are driving to survive to the podium.

Rude pour nous car il pleuvait pendant les reconnaissances et les notes n'étaient pas très aidantes. On a essayé de survivre. Après le rallye on va travailler nos notes pour l'année prochaine. Copilote (à qui on demandait des explications sur les dommages de son côté de la voiture) : Pas de soucis, j'ai fait plein de rallyes en Finlande et je suis habitué à la taule froissée. Par contre Teemu est très poli et s'en excuse! Je crois que nous sommes en tête de classe et nous allons rouler doucement pour rallier le podium.

Tämä oli vaikeaa, sillä harjoituksissa satoi rankasti ja nuotitus ei ole ihan kohdallaan. Keskityttiin vaan selviytymiseen. Kisan jälkeen katsomme auton sisäkameran kuvaa ja yritetään saada nuotitus kuntoon ensi vuodelle. Kartturi kysyttäessä auton vaurioista hänen puolellaan: "Ei ole ollut ongelma. Olen ajanut monissa Suomen mestaruusralleissa ja tottunut kolhuihin, mutta en Teemun kanssa, sillä hän on hyvin kohtelias kuski! Luulisin, että johdamme nyt luokkaamme ja pyrimme selviytymään palkintopallille".

It's a fantastic stage. We have a lot in reserve. We want to be fast enough to maintain the gap but not too fast. I want to do it again. I think without a doubt I have learnt the most on this rally. It was a fantastic feeling to give it full beans and we've learnt a lot more for doing that. Co-driver: That was a great stage: I'd like to do it again! I've been looking forward to it as I remember reading about it many years ago. We've been watching Fisher's splits and controlling our pace.

Une superbe ES, nous en avons encore sous le pied. Nous voulons surtout conserver notre avance. J'aimerais la refaire. Je crois avoir appris ici plus que partout ailleurs. A fond on apprend beaucoup. Copilote : une spéciale sympa. Moi aussi j'aimerais la refaire! J'avais envie de la faire depuis des années que j'en entends parler. Nous surveillons les temps intermédiaires de Fischer et contrôlons notre vitesse.

Oli fantastinen pätkä. Meillä on paljon annettavaa. Haluamme olla riittävän nopeita pitääksemme kaulaa takana tulevaan, mutta emme liian nopeita. Lisää täta! Olen oppinut paljon tässä rallissa, kun on päästelty täysillä. Kartturi: Upea pätkä - haluaisin ajaa sen uudestaan! Oikein odotin tätä pätkää, muistan lukeneeni tästä jo kauan sitten. Olemme seuranneet Fisherin väliaikoja ja säädelleet vauhtiamme.

The road is in perfect condition, no rocks at all. Better for the smaller cars. We've had quite a few problems and changed a few punctures but it's good for the championship. We should gain a few points. Co-driver: In addition to the punctures, we had a gearbox seize in SS4 but now we're back to fourth place in our category, which just proves you need to keep going to the very end. There is still one more to go.

62. Alastair Fisher (GBR) / Gordon Noble (GBR) - Citroen DS3 R3T
La route est dans un état impeccable, sans aucune pierre. C'est mieux pour les petites voitures. On a eu plusieurs soucis y compris quelques crevaisons mais on est dans la course pour le championnat, on devrait gagner des points. Copilote : En plus des crevaisons, la boîte de vitesses nous a lâchés dans l'ES4 mais nous sommes de nouveau quatrièmes de notre catégorie. Cela veut dire qu'il faut toujours faire le maximum pour ralluer l'arrivée, il en reste encore une.

Tie on hienossa kunnossa, ei ollenkaan kiviä, Se sopii pienemmille autoille. On ollut ongelmia, ja on vaihdettu renkaita, mutta mestaruuden kannalta näyttää hyvältä. Pisteitä näyttäisi tulevan. Kartturi: Rengasrikkojen lisäksi jo nelospätkällä jämähti vaihdelaatikko, mutta nyt ollaan luokan nelospaikalla. Se vain todistaa, että kannattaa jatkaa taistelua loppuun asti.

One more stage to go, I'm quite calm and keeping my head cold. You would think I drive like a grandma because if you drive fast you might have problems. I think my grandmother was quite a fast driver. Co-driver: We have a good lead so we are driving steadily and taking no risks. In that stage we took the opportunity to correct our pacenotes, which we had the time to do. It's an investment for the future.

Sauf que je crois que ma grand-mère avait un bon coup de volant. Copilote : Notre avance est suffisante pour ne pas prendre de risque. Nous avons ajusté nos notes dans l'ES en prévision du futur.

Yksi pätkä vielä jäljellä. Olen aika rauhallinen ja pidän pään kylmänä. Voi näyttää, että ajan kuin mummo, mutta kovalla vauhdilla voi tulla ongelmia. Mummoni oli kyllä aika nopea kuljettaja. Kartturi: Meillä on nyt selkeä johto, joten ajetaan rauhallisesti eikä oteta riskejä. Tällä pätkällä oli aikaa tarkistaa nuotteja, ja se on sijoitus tulevaisuuteen.

Nieminen on nyt kolmantena luokassaan ja on kellottanut nopeampia aikoja kuin kaksi hänen edellään ajavaa. Hänen täytyy edelleen taistella varmistaakseen palkintopallisija, sillä välimatka neljäntenä olevaan ei ole kovin suuri.

It is such a pleasure to drive this rally, especially Ruuhimäki. When I saw the video of the stage I thought it'd be all big jumps, but now I know it is just the last few kilometres. (Kees runs a rally school in Finland and did his first rally at the age of 46.)

C'est tellement un plaisir de faire ce rallye, surtout la spéciale de Ruuhimäki. Quand j'ai vu la vidéo de l'ES, j'ai cru qu'on aurait que des jumps mais maintenant je sais que ce n'est que sur les derneirs km. (Kees dirige une école de pilotage et a fait son premier rallye à l'âge de 46 ans).

Todella nautinnollista ajaa tätä rallia, varsinkin Ruuhimäkeä. Kun katsoin videon pätkästä luulin, että se olisi pelkkiä isoja hyppyjä, mutta nyt tiedän, että niitä on vain viimeisillä kilometreillä. (Kees pitää rallikoulua Suomessa ja ajoi ensimmäisen rallinsa 46 vuotiaana.)

We broke the front left suspension in SS20 but since then we've set at least one fastest time and proved that we have the speed to do well here in Finland. It is our first time in this rally.

This has been a very difficult event for us. We've had three punctures but are still third in our category. We are pleased with our speed and we have won one stage. Now we are driving safely to finish our second Neste Oil Rally Finland.

Pietiläinen: Thursday has been a bad day for us. The intercom stopped working and we went off after a jump on SS3 and lost eight minutes. Friday was better, but our problems came back on Saturday when all the electrics stopped on SS12 and SS13. We had no power, no engine, nothing! Now we are driving under Rally2 and making some good times. This is only the second time Matti is using pacenotes.

Pietiläinen: c'est jeudi qui a été une mauvaise journée pour nous. L'intercom nous a lâchés et on est sortis après un jump dans l'ES3 en perdant huit minutes dans l'affaire. Vendredi ça allait mais nos soucis ont recommencé samedi quand le système électrique est tombé en panne dans les ES 12 et 13. Nous n'avions plus de puissance, plus de moteur, plus rien! Nous sommes maintenant en Rally2 et nos temps sont plutôt bons. C'est seulement la deuxième fois que Matti se sert de notes.

Pietiläinen: Torstai oli hankala päivä. Kypäräpuhelimet pimenivät, ja ajettiin EK3:lla hypyn jälkeen ulos ja hykattin kahdeksan minuuttia. Perjantai oli parempi, mutta lauantaina murheet palasivat. Virrat katosivat EK12:lla ja EK13:lla. Ei ollut tehoja, ei mitään. Nyt ajetaan Rally2:lla ja on tehty muutamia hyviä aikoja. Tämä on Matille vasta toinen nuottiralli.

EK24 oli hankala, mutta ei virheitä. Tarvitsemme pisteitä DMACK-sarjassa. Meillä on hyvä kisa auton 102  (Cave) kanssa.
