There was one corner which was tighter than I thought it would be, so a little mistake. Apart from that OK.

The oil breather is blowing. Maybe in a couple of places I was slightly out of place but it was fine.

Huohottimesta puhaltaa vähän; ei mitään vakavaa. Pikkuisen osui heinäpaaliin. Parissa paikassa olin vähän poissa linjalta, mutta ihan hyvin meni.

Everything is OK, a little bit too sideways in there and lost a bit of speed. A good stage but not for me! I've had better days, but it's OK, a long rally to go.

Tout va bien, j'étais parfois un peu large et ai perdu un peu de vitesse. Une spéciale OK mais pas pour moi! J'ai eu de meilleurs jours mais rien n'est perdu, le rallye est encore très long.

Kaikki OK; vähän liikaa sivuluisussa, ja siihen hukattiin vauhtia. Hyvä pätkä, mutta ei minulle! Parempiakin päiviä on ollut, mutta ihan OK. Ralli on pitkä.

Voisi mennä paremminkiin , mutta onneksi vielä on muutama päivä jäljellä. Pari virhettä tuli, ja se näkyy ajassa. Aurinko häikäisi, ja jarrutin vähän aikaisin. Tämä on makea pätkä vetää.

We struggled a bit with the pacenotes through the first two stages. Now my confidence is better. Now on this stage there is gravel everywhere and now it's quite a different stage.

Nous avons eu quelques soucis avec nos notes pendant les deux premières spéciales. Maintenant j'ai beaucoup plus confiance. il y a beaucoup de graviers sur cette spéciale ce qui la rend très différente.

Tuskailtiin vähän nuottien kanssa kahdella ekalla EK:lla. Nyt itseluottamus on parempi. Nyt tällä pätkällä on soraa kaikkialla, ja se onkin ihan erilainen.

3. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Citroen DS3 WRC
Really good, crashes don't come cheap at this level. I always said that you need experience to really find your feet. It's really nice to be on the speed after competing here last year. We have three full days, four stages down 22 to go. The first stages tomorrow no-one has done before, it will be interesting tomorrow morning. I just want to be in the mix.

Super, pas de souci. J'ai toujours dit que l'expérience est indispensable pour savoir à quel rythme rouler ici. C'est vraiment sympa d'être de retour en Finlande. Il nous reste trois jours et 22 spéciales dont celles de demain que personne ne connait pour l'instant, cela va être intéressant. J'espère juste être de la partie.

Oikein hyvin meni; kolhut eivät ole halpoja tällä tasolla. Olen aina sanonut, että tarvitaan kokemusta, että löytää kunnolla sen tuntuman. On kiva olla täällä kunnon vauhdissa viime vuoden jälkeen. Meillä on vielä kolme täyttä päivää; neljä ajettu ja 22 jäljellä. Huomisen ensimmäisiä erikoiskokeita ei kukaan ole ajanut aiemmin, ja tulee mielenkiintoinen aamu. Haluan olla kärkikahinoissa mukana.

6. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
The stage is tricky enough. We tried to be quite clean where needed. It's been a difficult opening day for us, we hope for a good night sleep and a better day tomorrow. The roads haven't been perfect to day and I've been on the cautious side. The roads can be deceptive in Finland. The grip levels have been very good. The second pass there wasn't so much grip. We need to work on it and improve over the weekend.

6. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
La spéciale est piégeuse, nous avons été prudents quand il le fallait. Ce premier jour a été compliqué pour nous, on espère une bonne nuit de sommeil et que demain soit meilleur. Les routes n'étaient pas dans un état extraordinaire et nous roulions sur le meilleur côté. Les routes peuvent être trompeuses en Finlande. L'adhérence était bonne sauf dans le deuxième passage. Nous allons travailler et nous améliorer durant le week-end.

Pätkä oli ihan tarpeeksi kimurantti. Koitettiin mennä puhtaasti siellä missä sitä tarvittiin. On ollut hankala avauspäivä; toivottavasti saadaan kunnon yöunet ja parempi huominen. Tiet eivät ole tänään olleet täydellisiä, ja olen ollut varovainen. Suomen tiet voivat olla petollisia. Pito on ollut hyvä, mutta toisella kerralla samalla pätkällä se ei ollut enää niin hyvä. Meidän pitää tehdä töitä ja parantaa viikonlopun aikana.

I lost a little bit here and there but that's how it is. The car is very good, I had a puncture so I was very unlucky but that is rally.

J'ai perdu un peu de temps là-dedans mais cela arrive. La voiture est très au point. J'ai crevé ce qui est vraiment de la malchance mais c'est cela aussi le rallye.

Menetettiin vähän siellä ja täällä, mutta sellaista tämä on. Auto on tosi hyvä. Pahaksi onneksi kärsittiin rengasrikosta, mutta sekin kuuluu ralliin.
