In the first two corners it was quite slippy but after that it was really grippy. I might have been able to go a little faster but you never now and it would be a little bit risky.

I tried to keep a good speed, there are so many places you can go so fast. I expect the guys to go very fast. No moments and a clean run so far. I'm happy with my run.

A difficult stage. Struggling a bit to find the grip levels. The gravel is changing and difficult to know what is happening. Jari knows what is happening and is benefiting from that. Some places it is muddly and slippery. I don't think the stage is getting faster.

Une spéciale difficile. J'ai eu du mal à trouver la bonne adhérence. Le revêtement change et c'est imprévisible. Jari comprend ce qui se passe et en profite. Certaines portions sont boueuses et glissantes. Je ne pense pas que la spéciale va devenir plus rapide.

Vaikea pätkä. Taisteltiin vähän pidon löytämiseksi. Sorapinta muuttuu ja on vaikeaa tietää mitä tapahtuu. Jari tietää mistä mennä ja hyötyy siitä. Paikoitellen on mutaista ja liukasta. En usko, että pätkä tästä nopeutuu.

5. Mikko Hirvonen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
Very good, it was a bit slippy so Jari must have pulled away. But we are there, not too bad.

I was too slow at the beginning but at the end I was better. We're going to try to improve but not a perfect start. The road is getting more and more loose. I check everything and everything is OK, perhaps I try to do better myself.

Olin alussa liian hidas, mutta loppu tuli paremmin. Koitetaan parantaa; ei ollut täydellinen aloitus. Tie pehmenee. Kaikki oli OK, kun tsekkasin. Yritän parantaa omaa suoritusta.

3. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Citroen DS3 WRC
I'm happy enough with Pauls eyes on stalks. The rain cleared for the stage, what an incredible place to drive a rally car. The last split we were 1.6 up on Seb. I think we're a couple behind Jari. Not so bad, it's a long, long, long rally.

Heureusement que Paul a de bons yeux. Il a cessé de pleuvoir pour notre passage, c'est un endroit incroyable où piloter une voiture de rallye; Au dernier temps intermédiaire nous étions 1,6" devant Seb, je pense que nous sommes derrière Jari. C'est pas mal mais le rallye est très très long.

Luotan Paulin havaintokykyyn. Sade taukosi pätkällä. Mikä paikka ajaa ralliautolla. Viimeisessä väliajassa oltiin 1.6 sekuntia Sebiä edellä. Taidetaan olla nyt muutama sekunti perässä Jari-Mattia. Ei hullummin. Ralli on pitkä.

It wasn't easy, quite a good stage to warm up. I got pulled off the line but nothing happened. No risks, we got some heavy rain about 8km to the end. All ok.

Ei ollut helppoa, silti aika hyvä pätkä lämmittelyyn. Luisuin pois ajolinjalta, mutta mitään ei tapahtunut. Ei otettu riskejä, sillä satoi rankasti noin 8 km ennen maalia. Kaikki sujui ihan ok.

We caught the rain storm and could hardly see the road. We were spinning the wheels everywhere but hey, we're still here.

Melkoinen tulikaste. En tunnu saavan puhdasta vetoa WRC-autolla. On vaikeaa hyökätä, kun astut tähän autoon viime hetkellä ja olosuhteet ovat tällaiset.

I got on alright but in the middle it got so tricky and slippery I lost a lot of time as I didn't have the confidence any more. Just try to survive today.

[Front left tyre is off the rim and a damaged wheel] It was 1.5km before the end and I was too fast. I cut, went into a dip, we went on two wheels and got the car on the road and continued. The information on the dashboard says everything is good. [Only one spare tyre so that has now been used]

(Roue avant gauche endommagée et pneu en dehors de la jante). J'étais trop vite à 1,5km de l'arrivée. J'ai coupé, suis parti dans une ornière sur deux roues et ai réussi à reprendre la route. Sur la tebleau de bord, il était mentionné que tout allait bien. (Il n'avait qu'une roue de secours qui vient donc d'être utilisée).

(Vasen eturengas on irti vanteelta.) Se sattui 1.5 km ennen maalia. Vauhtia oli liikaa. Leikkasin ja kävin vähän ulkona. Mentiin kahdella pyörällä, ja sain auton takaisin tielle. Kojelaudan näyttöjen mukaan kaikki on kunnossa. (Ainoa vararengas on nyt käytetty.)
