1. Sebastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Volkswagen Polo R WRC
There is more than a little bit of road cleaning. It's really quite dry. Not so much loose but enough for the first car. I still did my best, we are going to see, still a long way to go. (On the second run in Päijälä Ogier was the fastest over the big jump: 147km/h and jumped the furthest: 41m.)

Il s'agit de nettoyer plus la route qui est vraiment sèche. Pas trop de graviers mais suffisamment pour la première voiture. J'ai fait de mon mieux, on va voir, il reste beaucoup à faire. (Au deuxième passage dans Päijilä, Ogier a été le plus rapide sur le gros jump qu'il a pris à 147km/h pour atterir le plus loin : 41m).

Tien putsausta joutuu nyt tekemään vähän enemmän. Tie on tosi kuiva. Ei kauheasti irtosoraa, mutta tarpeeksi ekalle autolle. Tein silti parhaani. Katsotaan, matka on vielä pitkä. (Toisella kerralla Päijälässä Ogier oli hypyssä nopein: 147 km/h ja hyppäsi pisimmälle: 41 m.)

I really pushed with Miikka now. We stayed on the right line in the road and pushed really hard. I realised on the first stage that I really need to focus, concentrate and not attack too much on the corners and it really seems to help.

On était vraiment à fond. On est restés sur la bonne trajectoire en poussant à mort. J'ai compris que je devais rester concentré et ne pas attaquer trop dans les virages et cela semble porter ses fruits.

Hyvä fiilis. Hyökättiin Miikan kanssa kunnolla ja pysyttiin oikealla linjalla. Ekalla pätkällä tajusin, että pitää todella keskittyä eikä hyökätä liikaa. Se auttaa. Pidettiin auto urissa ja tultiin siistimmin keula edellä.

9. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Volkswagen Polo R WRC
The driving is much better but the other guys are improving. We need to start taking big risks. I'm happy with my work.

Good pace for us, now we got back to how we were in the test. Got that feeling back so it's good for us. (The word 'Banana' is taped on the center of his steering wheel. When asked why it is there, he answered that it is there to make him happy!)

Nous avons un bon rythme, le même que celui que nous avions pendant les tests. Mon feeling est de nouveau bon ce qui tombe bien. (Le mot "Banana" est collé sur son volant et il explique que c'est juste pour lui faire plaisir!).

Hyvää vauhtia, nyt päästiin siihen vauhtiin mitä testeissäkin oli. Sain fiiliksen takaisin, ja se on hyvä juttu. (Matsilla on ohjauspyörän keskelle teipattu sana 'Banana'. Syyksi moiselle hän sanoi, että se pitää hänet iloisena!)

5. Mikko Hirvonen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
I spun on one junction. I just touched the middle post, caught the wheel and spun.

I'm really enjoying it. This was, for me, one of the best stages I've experienced in Finland. Some really big jumps but they are nice and smooth. A pleasure to drive a Citroen on these roads. Keeping the concentration.

Nautin oikein todella. Minulle tämä oli yksi parhaista erikoiskokeista Suomessa. Muutamia isoja hyppyjä, mutta ne ovat kivoja ja jouhevia. On nautinto ajaa Citroenia näillä teillä.

6. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
It's coming for sure. I'm feeling good inside the car, we're trying not to get drawn in and I have to back off a bit. We need to learn so it's too early to push flat out. Hopefully this pace can get us through. It feels clean at the moment so lets hope we can keep it going.

Ca vient! Je me sens bien dans la voiture, je ne dois pas m'emballer et rester calme. Il nous reste beaucoup à apprendre donc c'est encore trop tôt pour pousser à fond. Avec de la chance on va s'en sortir à cette vitesse. Tout semble aller dans le bon sens donc on croise les doigts.

Homma etenee. Tuntuma auton sisällä on hyvä; yritetään päästä loppuun asti, mutta täytyy vähän löysätä. Opettelemme vielä, joten on liian aikaista painaa kaasu pohjassa. Toivottavasti tällä rytmillä selvitään maaliin. Ajo tuntuu nyt puhtaalta, yritetään jatkaa samaan malliin.

On the stage before we had a big moment so the car is not as good as it should be. I think nothing is broken, it's just not straight.

I have a small issue with the power steering, I lose it sometimes. It's a bit disturbing.

Everything is alright, just trying to find the rhythm. Everything is OK but the time is average. The grip seems to be there on the road, but you need to keep in the clean lines.

Kaikki kunnossa, yritettiin vaan löytää oikea rytmi. Aika on keskinkertainen. Tieltä löytyy pitoa, mutta täytyy pysyä puhtailla linjoilla.

It was quite nice. I was quite happy with the stage, the car is working quite well. I'm getting happier and happier with the car. It's such a massive step from what I'm used to. (Of the first 14 drivers, Breen was the only one wearing sunglasses.)

23. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
C'était sympa, j'ai bien aimé cette spéciale et la voiture fonctionne bien. J'en suis de plus en plus content. C'est une telle différence avec celle que je conduisais jusque là. (Des 14 premiers pilotes, Breen est le seul à porter des lunettes de soleil).

23. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC
Sujui aika kivasti. Olin tyytyväinen pätkään ja auto toimi hyvin. Auto tuntuu aina vaan paremmalta. Aikamoinen harppaus siitä mihin olen tottunut. (14sta ensimmäisenä maaliin tulleista kuljettajista Breen oli ainoa, jolla oli aurinkolasit päässä)

35. Jari Ketomaa (FIN) / Kaj Lindström (FIN) - Ford Fiesta R5
We have a snapped roll bar so it's very tricky to drive it without a rear roll bar on these very fast stage. There is a lot of understeer and it's hard to get it to turn in on the fast corners. I had to wee in Pihlajakoski. Ilka Minor happened to be in the bushes too - I hope I didn't shock her!

35. Jari Ketomaa (FIN) / Kaj Lindström (FIN) - Ford Fiesta R5
Nous avons un roll bar cassé ce qui rend la conduite très difficile sur ces spéciales si rapides. La voiture a aussi tendance à sous virer et c'est un souci dans les virages rapides. En plus je suis allé me soulager du côté de Pihlajakoski et je suis tombé sur Ilka Minor. J'espère qu'elle n'a pas été trop choquée!

Kallistuksenvakaaja särkyi, ja on hankala ajaa näillä nopeilla pätkillä. Auto aliohjaa, ja sitä on vaikea kääntää nopeisiin mutkiin. Pihlajakoskella pissatti, ja piti käydä puskassa. Ilka Minor oli siellä samalla asialla - toivottavasti en järkyttänyt häntä!

I think after 5km we caught Tanak, I think he had a flat tyre and there was a lot of dust. You can't drive at this speed with a lot of dust.

Viiden kilometrin kohdalla taidettiin saavuttaa Tanak. Häneltä oli kai mennyt rengas, ja pölyä nousi todella paljon. Näillä vauhdeilla ei voi ajaa pölyssä.

A good stage, we drive normally and push hard sometimes. The car is OK and everything is OK. A good jump, we fly [27 meter jump 132kph]

Hyvä pätkä: ajettiin normaalisti, hyökättiin tiukasti välillä. Auto on OK, kuten kaikki muukin. Hyvä hyppy, lennettiin (27m hyppy 132km/h.)
